Christopher Walken -- NOT a Suspect in Natalie Wood Death

Sources familiar with the L.A. County Sheriff's Dept. investigation into the death of Natalie Wood tell TMZ ... Christopher Walken is NOT a suspect in Wood's death and he is in no way being investigated for any complicity in the drowning.

We are told, however, that investigators will want to speak with Walken about the events leading up to and following Wood's death.

One source familiar with the investigation says despite Sheriff's officials saying Robert Wagner is not a suspect, he is clearly the person of interest and the primary reason the investigation has been reopened.

Wagner has said through his publicist he welcomes the investigation.

Davern says Robert Wagner plied him with liquor in the hours after she vanished.  In spite of the heavy drinking, Davern says his memory of the evening is clear.

Ashton's lawyer released a statement at the time Brittney was in the headlines, insinuating her story was a lie ... but not entirely denying

Now, Jones tells TMZ ... "Although divorce is often sad I
do feel somewhat vindicated."

She adds, "For so long people have thought that I was
dishonest or just making up my passionate nights with Ashton, when in fact I was
being used."

"Ashton told me that both he and
Demi had an 'open relationship' and that he was not in fact cheating.  Now I can
tell all the facts about how Ashton really was, and hopefully people will
believe my side of the story."

Still, Jones says, "I feel for Demi very much and wish her nothing but the best during this
hard time."

This morning on "TODAY," Davern admitted he did "lie on a report several years ago" -- but wouldn't say what new evidence he offered up to authorities.

When asked if he thought Wagner was responsible for the death of Natalie Wood, Davern responded, "Yes, I would say so. Yes."

Davern said he believed Wagner tried to keep the investigation into Wood's death low-profile. Lana Wood, Natalie's sister, told TMZ she felt Wagner was not honest with the cops at the time of the drowning.

According to law enforcement, 61-year-old Pointer was busted for felony possession of a controlled substance at 12:39 AM and hauled to a nearby station-- where she was booked and held on $10,000 bail. Pointer was released from custody around 4:30 AM.

The Pointer Sisters were HUGE in the '70s and '80s -- churning out hits like "Slow Hand" and "Neutron Dance."

TMZ shot footage of Bonnie in L.A. last weekend -- in which the singer revealed her sister Anita is fighting cancer. Bonnie appeared loopy and out of it.

Authorities still have no answers as to why "Twilight" star Jackson Rathbone and Flavor Flav both wore crushed velvet suits in public this week.

Rathbone stunned onlookers in a blood curdling burgundy two-piece crushed velvet catastrophe at the "Breaking Dawn" premiere in L.A., while Flav went with a deadly emerald version to Heavy D's wake in NY.

They say it takes three instances to make a trend ... let's hope not.

Natalie Wood's Sister Lana Wood -- Robert Wagner Withheld Information

Lana Wood, Natalie Wood's sister, says she never believed Robert Wagner's version of the events that led to Natalie's death.

Lana tells TMZ ... she believes Robert wasn't honest with cops when they interviewed him about Natalie's death.

Lana also says she's not buying the story that Natalie was trying to secure a dinghy and fell overboard because she was deathly afraid of water -- to the point she wouldn't even go in her pool.

Lana says Sheriff's detectives have interviewed her about the case and they specifically wanted to know if the relationship between Natalie and Robert was "volatile."

And, Lana says, if someone was responsible for Natalie's death, they should be punished, despite the fact it's 30 years later.

Natalie Wood May Have Struggled for Hours Before She Died

Natalie Wood was wearing a red down jacket when authorities discovered her body 30 years ago ... and her wardrobe could prove she floated alive in dark water for hours while Robert Wagner allegedly stalled rescue efforts.

Marti Rulli -- the author of the book that triggered cops to re-open the investigation into Wood's death -- performed a forensic test on down coats similar to Natalie's ... which proved a down jacket acts like a life preserver in water ... "it will not sink, but instead remains floating."

Rulli's finding completely contradicts the opinion of the coroner in the case -- who insisted the jacket would have sapped Natalie's strength and weighed her down in the ocean.

Wood's body was discovered in the ocean off Catalina Island -- hours after she went missing from a cruise with her husband Robert Wagner and Christopher Walken.

Originally, law enforcement believed Wood slipped off the boat while trying to tie down a dinghy. But now, cops have doubts ... after the captain revealed Wood and Wagner had been arguing intensely before she went missing.

The captain also claimed Wagner instructed the crew to NOT call in the Coast Guard to aid in search and rescue efforts once they realized Natalie had gone missing.

Chris Brown's Rep: There Is NO Sex Tape!!!

Chris Brown's rep tells TMZ ... the person who stars in a new XXX sex tape being shopped around town is DEFINITELY not Chris Brown ... despite reports to the contrary.

According to MediaTakeOut.com, the mystery seller wants $50k in exchange for footage which allegedly features Brown gettin' dirty with "Basketball Wives" star Draya Michele. MediaTakeOut claims they have seen the footage ... but passed because it was out of their price range. 

But Brown's rep tells TMZ ... "The report is absolutely not true."

A source in Brown's camp smells a conspiracy ... sarcastically telling us, "Doesn't it seem like a coincidence that every time Chris has a major performance or event on the horizon, some fake story like this breaks?"
